Ever get the urge to make homemade bread but you are short on time?  Several months ago I found this boxed bread in the store and read how easy it was to make and I was half sold.  The other half would come if the product lived up to it’s “simply homemade” motto.

I happened to buy the Italian Herb bread as we were going to be having Lasagna Roll-ups that night and I thought it would be a good change from the usual garlic breadsticks.  Opening the box, you have the flour mixture packet, a yeast packet, and a sugar packet.  You add the warm water to the yeast and sugar in a bowl, mix and let it set for 3 minutes.  Then you simply add the flour mixture to the yeast and mix till combined.  No kneading is necessary, it says so right on the box!  You just shape the dough on your greased pan (sprinkle a little flour on the dough so it doesn’t stick to your hands.)  The directions tell you not to pat the dough down on top so that it will rise a bit.The dough then rests for 25 minutes so it will rise but it will not double in size.  Pop in your oven for 20 or so minutes and you have fresh homemade bread.  That’s it! Less than an hour!

I am sold on this bread, it’s so good!  There are four varieties of the bread and soon they will be coming out with soft pretzels! I can’t wait for that.  It’s so easy to make and you don’t have to take all day to do so.  The website also has a few recipes you can make from the breads.  I will be trying those soon.  You’ll find Fleischmann’s Simply Homemade in the baking aisle at the grocery store.  Try it, you’ll be sold too!
