Chicken is a food that we often have in our house. So much that sometimes it gets boring and I have to find new ways to serve it to the family. I love a recipe that uses just a few simple ingredients that I always have. This easy Baked Garlic and Brown Sugar Chicken recipe uses just four ingredients and turns out perfect every single time.
Besides the simplicity of the recipe, it also cooks in less than 40 minutes, which is a real bonus when you’re trying to get dinner on the table fast.
Tips
- Using the aluminum foil in the baking pan will keep clean-up to a minimum. Be sure to spray the foil well with the nonstick spray.
- You can substitute the chicken breasts for boneless, skinless chicken thighs. Cooking time may vary so it’s best to use a meat thermometer and cook the chicken to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
- Feel free to bump up the sauce ingredients with a little soy sauce and even a bit of sriracha sauce.
- You can cook this chicken in the slow cooker. Prepare the brown sugar and garlic as directed in the recipe card. Add the chicken to the slow cooker and then pour the sauce over it. Cook on low for 4 – 5 hours, depending on how thick your chicken breasts are.
🥣Equipment
- baking pan
- aluminum foil
- skillet
📃Ingredients
- 3 chicken breasts, skinless and boneless
- 4 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick spray. This will help in clean up. Place chicken on the prepared baking sheet and season with salt and pepper.
In a small skillet, saute the garlic in olive oil for about 1 minute or until it’s softened. Add the brown sugar to the garlic and mix together.
Spread the garlic and sugar mixture over the chicken and bake for 30 – 40 minutes or until the chicken is done. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165 degrees.
We like to serve this with roasted potatoes and green beans.
