Today’s spotlight is on Karen and her amazing blog, To Work With My Hands. My first visit to her site was just to check it out briefly and I found myself stalking her for over an hour. I have been on a kick lately making bread from scratch and when I saw her recipe for Fresh Herb Whole Wheat Bread it was a no-brainer to try it. It was SO good! The fresh herb combination was perfect for this bread. The only thing I did different was to use store-bought whole wheat bread instead of grinding my own as Karen did. Using my bread machine to get the dough together was a cinch and loved that she replaced the sugar with raw honey. You need this bread in your life. Seriously.
Karen’s blog is just more than recipes: she has a series called Life is Beautiful that features inspirations that are close to her heart. Her desire is that you are encouraged, and “that as we work with our hands, creating, building, loving, and living, that we have eyes to see and hearts to grasp the beauty and grace that is right beside us, if we will only take the time to see it” The pictures in this series along with her words leave me with a relaxing, peaceful spirit.
The DIY blog posts on To Work With My Hands features an array of easy to make it yourself products from Rosemary Infused Olive Oil (this would be SO good to dip the wheat bread in) to her favorite chemical-free moisturizer. Since it’s beginning to look a lot like Fall, you may want to even try making your own Pumpkin Puree to use in your pumpkin recipes. Her detailed posts provide you with step-by-step instructions complete with pictures.
Spend some time over at To Work With My Hands and you will quickly see why I was there for so long.
Start here with that amazing homemade bread that I mentioned in the beginning of this post.
Enjoy!
