Grilled Pound Cake with Fresh Berries #SummerGrilling

The buttery toasted flavor of Grilled Pound Cake makes a great base for fresh summertime berries. Serve with a scoop of ice cream and it's a perfect summer dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 6 slices pound cake about 1 inch thick
  • butter

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the the berries with the sugar lemon zest; set aside while the cake is grilling.
  • Preheat the Hamilton Beach Searing Indoor Grill to 450 degrees.
  • Spread butter over both sides of cake slices.
  • Grill, uncovered, for 1-2 minutes on each side or until light golden brown.
  • Remove pound cake slices to serving plates.
  • Spoon berries over cake and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
