  • blender

Ingredients

  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • ¼ cup milk (whole works best)
  • ¼ teaspoon mint extract
  • 4 drops green food coloring

Optional garnishes

  • chocolate syrup
  • whipped cream
  • green sanding sugar
  • Maraschino cherry

Instructions

  • In a blender add the ice cream, milk, mint extract, and green food and blend until creamy.
  • Drizzle chocolate syrup into a glass, and pour the ice cream mixture in. Top with whipped cream, green sanding sugar, and maraschino cherry, if desired.

Notes

  • This recipe makes one shake, but it's so easy to double and make more.
  • You can use food coloring or food gel coloring. The gel will be a brighter color so only a little is needed.
  • If you are sensitive to food dyes, you can skip them. The shake will taste just as delicious.
  • Want more mint flavor? Use ½ teaspoon of mint extract instead of ¼.
  • Add a couple of Oreo cookies into the blender to make an Oreo Shamrock McFlurry.
  • To make this a vegan shake: use non-dairy vanilla ice cream, non-dairy milk, and non-dairy whipped topping.
  • Want a thicker or thinner shake? Add ice cream or milk to get your desired consistency.
  • You can even make this a boozy shake by adding a little of Baileys, Creme de Cacao, or Creme de Menthe.
  • Since you can make this shake year-round, add red and green sprinkles for Christmas, red food coloring, and red heart sprinkles for Valentine's Day.
