Lemony-Lemon Smoothie

This lemon smoothie is filled with health benefits. The anti-inflammatory properties in ginger and turmeric can help with pain in the joints or sore muscles. Honey adds not only a bit of sweetness to the smoothie but is a natural energy booster. PLUS it has antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties that can help improve digestive systems and help you stay healthy and fight disease. Lemons are full of vitamin C and all kinds of good antioxidants. This drink is a win-win: it's healthy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 cup low fat vanilla yogurt
  • Juice of one whole fresh lemon
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger OR 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • Zest of one whole lemon grated
  • 1/8 tsp ground turmeric

Instructions

  • In blender, add ice
  • Then, add and combine all other ingredients with the ice.
  • Blend until smooth. Serve immediately
  • Makes 2 servings but I rarely share :)
