Chicken – it’s what’s for dinner! Sunday dinner has been a big part of my life since, well, forever! Growing up it meant having a big dinner meal mid-afternoon and then just enjoying the rest of the day. Having my own family, I kept that tradition up for the most part until the girls were in their teens and had their own plans and such on Sundays. Thinking back, it was like that with me as well when I was a teen ager. Now Sunday dinner seems to be anytime we are all together!
dinner meals, not to mention several other nights. With so much going on these days, my crockpot gets a workout and this Slow Cooker Chicken and Gravy from Sarah over at The Magical Slow Cooker has to be one of the easiest and BEST recipes I have tried in a very long time. Four ingredients – so simple! I have been eyeing it for quite some time but never made it till now. The first thing I noticed about this recipe (other than how easy it is) was that her 3 year-old loved it and wanted more. I don’t know that many little ones who are fond of gravy so this had to be something special. Because I didn’t want to cook the next day, I doubled the recipe but I didn’t change anything else and we loved it. Sarah serves the Chicken and Gravy over mashed potatoes that sit upon a slice of sourdough bread. How can that be wrong? Oh, it’s not! I chose not to serve it over the bread but my husband used the rolls I made in place of the bread and did just as Sarah presented her dish.He does know better sometimes! I love her idea of making stuffing and cranberry sauce with it next time, too. This could easily become a regular Sunday dinner meal!
