Who We Are

Blogghetti is a food and recipe website operated by Lisa Kerhin at https://blogghetti.com/. This policy explains how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit the website, subscribe to our emails, leave a comment, or contact us.

For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected]. You may also use our contact page. Blogghetti does not offer reader accounts on blogghetti.com. Accounts with third-party services, such as Grow or our separately hosted community, are governed by those services’ notices as well.

Information We Collect

Information you provide. When you subscribe, we collect your email address and the name you provide. When you contact us, we receive your contact details, message, and any attachments. When you leave a comment or recipe review, we collect the information entered in the form, which may include your name, email address, website address, rating, and comment.

Information collected automatically. Our website and service providers may collect your IP address, browser and device information, referring pages, pages viewed, interactions, approximate location derived from your IP address, and cookie or similar identifiers. Email services may also record delivery, opens, clicks, and subscription preferences. The information collected depends on the services and features you use and your privacy choices.

Information from service providers. We may receive analytics reports, email engagement reports, referral reports, and information used to identify spam or security threats. Please do not submit sensitive information, such as payment card details, government identification numbers, or private medical information, in comments or messages.

How We Use Information

  • Provide recipes, website features, and requested email subscriptions.
  • Respond to messages and moderate comments and reviews.
  • Understand how readers use the website and emails, and improve content and functionality.
  • Display and measure advertising, including personalized advertising where permitted.
  • Measure affiliate referrals and commissions.
  • Prevent spam, detect abuse, maintain website security, and resolve technical problems.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

Newsletters, Grow, and Kit

We use Grow for newsletter signup forms and Kit, formerly ConvertKit, to manage subscriptions and send emails. When you subscribe through a Grow form, Grow collects and retains subscriber information and sends it to our connected Kit account. You may also subscribe through a Kit form. Kit processes subscriber information and email engagement information for these purposes. Emails may contain tracking pixels and tracked links that report opens and clicks. These reports help us understand readership and improve future emails; they do not always reliably show whether a person actually read an email.

Signup forms may use cookies or identifiers to remember subscription status and manage signup prompts. Our newsletter links include campaign tracking information to help identify traffic from emails. Kit is also configured to add a hashed version of a subscriber’s email address to email links. This identifier does not display the readable email address, but providers may match it to information they already hold to recognize a subscriber or associate activity across websites and services. Hashing does not make the identifier anonymous. Reader engagement and advertising services may use these identifiers as described below.

You can stop marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or by contacting us. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails but does not automatically delete every record, such as information needed to honor your unsubscribe choice. Comments, Reviews, and Contact Messages

Publicly Visible Information

Approved comments, reviews, display names, website links, and profile images may be visible publicly. Email addresses submitted in the comment form are not displayed publicly as part of the comment.

Comment information, IP addresses, and browser information may be processed by Akismet and other security or spam-prevention tools. If Gravatar is used, a hashed version of your email address may be sent to that service to check for a profile image. A hash is an identifier, not a guarantee that information is anonymous. See Automattic’s privacy notice for Akismet and Gravatar information.

Information entered in a contact form or sent by email is used to respond and manage the correspondence. Contact-form submissions are sent to our email inbox. We generally delete these messages after responding. The contact form is not configured to save submissions as database entries in WordPress or add these contacts to Kit. Please avoid posting private information in public comments.

Comment Moderation

  • Blogghetti is a family-friendly blog. Comments containing offensive or inappropriate language, or comments I deem rude or offensive, may be edited or deleted.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Blogghetti and its service providers may also use pixels, local storage, and similar technologies. Depending on the features you use, enabled settings, and your privacy choices, these technologies may be used for the following purposes:

  • Website operation and security: Support requested features, detect spam or abuse, and help protect the website.
  • Privacy and other preferences: Remember cookie or advertising choices and relevant feature preferences.
  • Newsletter forms: Remember a signup or subscription status and manage whether a signup prompt is shown. Enabled subscriber features may associate website activity with a subscriber.
  • Comments and forms: Where offered and selected, remember details entered in a comment form so you do not need to enter them again.
  • Analytics and engagement: Measure page visits, engagement time, searches, and interactions to help us understand and improve the website. Google Analytics, Grow, and Slickstream are described below.
  • Advertising: Support ad delivery, measurement, and personalization through Raptive and participating advertising providers.
  • Affiliate referrals: Affiliate providers may set or read cookies after you follow affiliate links to attribute purchases and commissions.
  • Embedded content: Video players, social media embeds, and other third-party features may use their own technologies. A simple link to a social profile does not necessarily set the same cookies as an embedded widget.

Some technologies are needed for requested features or security. Others support optional preferences, analytics, or advertising. Not every technology listed is used on every page or visit. We do not offer reader registration or login accounts on blogghetti.com; third-party services may use their own account-related technologies.

You can manage cookies through your browser and the privacy controls available on the website. Blocking cookies may affect some features. Clearing cookies may also remove saved preferences, so you may need to make your privacy choices again. Browser cookie settings alone do not necessarily stop every form of data collection.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how readers reach and use Blogghetti. Information may include pages viewed, referring websites or traffic sources, engagement time, website interactions, browser and device details, and approximate geographic location. We use the resulting reports to understand readership, improve recipes and other content, and evaluate website performance.

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies and similar technologies, depending on its configuration. Available privacy choices are described below. Cookie identifiers can help distinguish browsers and associate activity across visits. These identifiers are not the same as your name or email address, but they should not be described as a guarantee of anonymous processing.

Google processes IP addresses during collection to derive approximate location; Google states that Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. This does not mean that every other provider on Blogghetti follows the same practice.

Read Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers. This add-on concerns Analytics and does not opt you out of all advertising or other website tools.

Grow and Slickstream

We use Grow for newsletter signups and reader engagement, and Slickstream for reader engagement features. These services may process page visits, searches, interactions, device information, and identifiers to provide and measure the features offered on the website. Grow retains subscriber records, and our Grow newsletter signup form is connected to Kit.

If you choose to sign in to a third-party service or submit information through its features, that provider processes the information under its own privacy notice. Grow may use signup information and email-derived identifiers for interest-based advertising. Its signup forms provide advertising notices or consent choices based on location. These advertising choices are separate from your request to receive our newsletter. Reader engagement and identity features may also support personalized advertising using other identifiers. Using these services does not create a WordPress reader account on Blogghetti.

Advertising

CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive (“Raptive”) is a service provider of this Site for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Raptive will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. Advertising providers may use cookies, pixels, IP addresses, device or browser identifiers, browsing activity, and other information to display and measure ads. Some advertising and identity features may use information associated with newsletter subscriptions or visits, including email-derived identifiers. This may support recognition across visits and personalized advertising.

Advertising-related disclosures to partners may qualify as a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for targeted advertising under applicable privacy laws, even when personal information is not exchanged directly for money.

Future Retargeting or Remarketing

If we begin using retargeting or remarketing ads to promote Blogghetti, we will update this policy to describe the advertising providers, information used, and available privacy choices before those tools are activated.

Privacy Choices and Advertising Opt-Outs

According to Raptive, its advertising privacy controls vary by visitor location and website configuration. Its standard experience includes a consent window for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, and a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” footer link in the United States. Use the applicable privacy link or settings shown on the website to review or change your advertising choices.

Opting out of personalized advertising does not necessarily remove ads, unsubscribe you from newsletters, or stop all non-advertising data processing. Your choice may apply to the browser or device where it is made. Other tools may require separate controls.

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser signal used to communicate certain privacy opt-out choices. It is different from the older Do Not Track (DNT) signal. Where applicable law requires recognition of GPC, the relevant sale, sharing, or targeted-advertising opt-out must be applied. If you have questions about a signal or a privacy choice on this website, contact us. We do not represent that the older DNT signal stops all tracking on this website.

Canadian Visitors and Quebec Consent

According to Raptive, its regional advertising controls include a consent popup in French and English for visitors detected as being in Quebec. It asks whether visitors agree to personalized advertising and related data use. Location detection uses IP geolocation and may not always match a visitor’s physical location. Canadian visitors may also have access to Raptive’s advertising opt-out footer link, depending on the regional experience shown.

These controls concern Raptive advertising. They do not automatically manage every other service on Blogghetti. For questions about your information or to exercise rights available under applicable Canadian or Quebec privacy law, contact us. Privacy choices do not necessarily remove all advertising.

Affiliate Links

Blogghetti is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and links to Amazon.com.  As part of this Amazon Associates program, the Website will post customized links, provided by Amazon, to track the referrals to their website. This program utilizes cookies to track visits for the purposes of assigning commission on these sales.

In addition to Amazon Associates, Blogghetti participates in other affiliate programs and networks, including Awin, ShopMy, Walmart, and Impact (formerly Impact Radius). We may also use other retailer or brand affiliate programs. These relationships may change over time.

When you click an affiliate link, the destination website or affiliate network may use cookies, referral identifiers, and purchase information to attribute a referral and calculate commissions. We may receive referral and commission reports; clicking an affiliate link does not mean we receive your full payment details.

The destination provider’s privacy policy applies to its processing. Our disclosure policy explains affiliate compensation.

Embedded Content and External Services

Pages may contain embedded videos, social media content, or other third-party features. Their providers may receive your IP address, browser information, and interactions, use cookies, and associate activity with an account you hold with them. Ordinary external links and sharing buttons do not all behave the same way as embedded content.

Our separately hosted community and external websites have their own privacy notices. Review those notices before providing information there.

When Information Is Shared

Information may be disclosed to providers that support website hosting, maintenance, backups, security, spam prevention, contact forms, email delivery, analytics, reader engagement, and advertising. Some act on our behalf; others process information for their own purposes described in their notices. Advertising partners and affiliate networks may also receive information as described above.

We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect rights, safety, and website security. If the business is sold or reorganized, relevant records may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements.

How Long Information Is Kept

Retention depends on the type of information, why it was collected, the service involved, and legal or security requirements. Subscriber information is retained to provide the subscription and manage email preferences. Limited suppression records may be retained after an unsubscribe to prevent unwanted emails.

Published comments and associated records may remain while they serve the discussion and moderation needs of the website. Reader emails and emailed contact-form submissions are generally deleted from our inbox after we respond. The contact form is not configured to retain submissions as WordPress database entries. Deleted messages may remain temporarily in email-provider trash or backup systems according to their settings and retention practices. Analytics, logs, and backup records follow the applicable provider settings and operational requirements.

You may request deletion as described below. Some records may need to be kept for legal, security, or other permitted purposes. Copies in backups may persist until the relevant backup is replaced or expires.

Security

We use website security, spam-prevention, and maintenance tools intended to reduce unauthorized access and abuse. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. If a breach triggers legal notification duties, we will provide the notifications required by applicable law.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to access or obtain a copy of your personal information, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, withdraw consent, object to or restrict processing, and opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Some laws also provide rights concerning sensitive information, authorized agents, and appeals. Exceptions may apply.

Email [email protected] to make a request. Tell us which right you want to exercise and provide enough information to locate the relevant records. We may need to verify your identity or an agent’s authority without collecting more information than reasonably necessary. We will respond within applicable legal time limits. If a request is declined and you have an appeal right, reply to the decision to request an appeal.

You will not be unlawfully discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights. Where available, you may also complain to your state authority or relevant data protection authority.

European and UK Visitors

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the legal basis depends on the processing. Consent applies to relevant optional tracking or marketing where required. Legitimate interests may support website administration, security, responding to messages, and appropriate content moderation, subject to your rights. Processing may also be necessary to meet a legal obligation or provide a service under a contract where applicable.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before withdrawal. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and raise concerns with your local supervisory authority.

International Processing

Blogghetti is operated in the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States or other countries, whose privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Applicable international transfer requirements and safeguards depend on the provider and processing involved. Provider privacy notices explain their transfer practices; contact us for information relevant to your request.

Children’s Privacy

Blogghetti is a general-audience recipe website and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal information, contact us at [email protected] so we can review the situation and take the action required by applicable law. Additional protections for minors may apply depending on location and the processing involved.

Future Giveaways, Surveys, or Products

We do not currently operate giveaways or surveys or sell products directly through Blogghetti. If these activities are introduced, we will provide relevant privacy information before collecting information for them and update this policy where needed.

Policy Updates and Contact

We may update this policy when our practices, services, or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest update. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent for relevant changes.
