Ingredients

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries
  • 2 cups orange candy melts

Instructions

  • Rinse the strawberries and allow them to dry completely (pat dry if need be) before continuing. If your fresh berries are not dry, the chocolate may not stick.
  • Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper. Set the strawberries on the parchment paper, an inch or so apart.
  • Add the candy to a microwave-safe bowl, and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each heat session, until fully melted.
  • Dip the strawberries into the melted candy, then set them on parchment paper so the chocolate can dry and firm up for a few minutes. If the strawberries are hard to hold while dipping, use a toothpick inserted in the green leaves to help hold the berry.
  • Add the remaining melted candy to a piping bag equipped with a small round piping tip, and pipe the candy in lines down the strawberry to make the “pumpkins”.
  • Allow chocolate strawberry pumpkins to set for at least 30 minutes, then enjoy!
