White Chocolate Covered Strawberry Pumpkins

Pumpkin Strawberries are made with fresh strawberries and orange-colored white chocolate candy wafers that are melted. They are even easier to make than these Strawberry Mummies for Halloween.

Best Tip to Perfect Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

Besides having fresh ripe strawberries for the best flavor, be sure your strawberries are rinsed and dried completely so the melted chocolate adheres to the fruit.

How to Make White Chocolate Strawberry Pumpkins

Step 1

Rinse the strawberries and allow them to dry completely (pat dry if need be) before continuing. If your fresh berries are not dry, the chocolate may not stick.

Step 2

Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper. Set the strawberries on the parchment paper, an inch or so apart.

Step 3

Add the candy to a microwave-safe bowl, and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each heat session, until fully melted.

Step 4

Dip the strawberries into the melted candy, then set them on parchment paper so the chocolate can dry and firm up for a few minutes. If the strawberries are hard to hold while dipping, use a toothpick inserted in the green leaves to help hold the berry.

Step 5

Add the remaining melted candy to a piping bag equipped with a small round piping tip, and pipe the candy in lines down the strawberry to make the “pumpkins”.

Tips, Tricks, and FAQs

  • If you find your chocolate is too thick, add a bit of shortening to thin it.
  • Can you make the strawberries in advance? I don’t recommend making them more than a couple of hours in advance for the best flavor.
  • Store the strawberry pumpkins at room temperature if you are serving them soon. Leftover strawberries can be placed on a plate (uncovered) in the refrigerator for 1 or 2 days.
  • Be sure the strawberries are dry before adding the melted chocolate.
  • If you don’t have a piping bag, you can easily use a ziplock bag. Just cut a small piece from the corner tip of the bag.
