Brown Sugar and Ketchup Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 thick boneless pork chops (½ inch to 1 inch)
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  • Spread the tablespoon of olive oil evenly across the lined baking sheet to create a non-stick surface.
  • Pat the boneless pork chops completely dry with a paper towel, then arrange them in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, thoroughly stir together the brown sugar, sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and ground black pepper.
  • Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of each pork chop, then generously coat them with the brown sugar and ketchup glaze mixture.
  • Bake uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part reads 145°F).
    Remove the baking sheet from the oven, cover loosely with foil, and let the meat rest for 5 minutes before serving
