Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons dried basil
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon dried Marjoram

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix to combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container until ready to use in your favorite recipes. The seasonings should last several months if stored properly.

Notes

  • The key to a great seasoning blend is starting with high-quality dried herbs. Check the expiration dates of the ones in your spice cabinet.
  • If you love the taste of basil, add a little more. If you’re not a fan of thyme, feel free to reduce the amount or leave it out altogether.
  • If you prefer a finer texture that evenly distributes throughout your dishes, consider giving the herbs a quick pulse in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle. This is especially helpful if your blend contains larger herbs like rosemary.
  • Store your seasoning in an airtight container, preferably in a cool, dark place, to keep it fresh for months. Glass jars work well, and you can even repurpose small spice jars for this purpose.
  • To keep track of freshness, always label your container with the name of the blend and the date you made it. While dried herbs don’t spoil, they do lose potency over time. Using them within six months will give you the best flavor
