Ingredients

  • 1 16 ounce loaf of French bread
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 21 ounce can apple pie filling

For the icing drizzle

Instructions

  • Spray a 9×13-inch casserole dish with nonstick spray. Set aside. Cut the loaf of bread into one-inch cubes. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. Add the bread cubes to the bowl, and toss gently to coat it all in the batter.
  • Pour the soaked bread into the casserole dish and spread evenly. Then, spoon apple pie filling over the bread mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, or up to 8 hours.
  • Remove the casserole dish from the refrigerator, and preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 50-55 minutes, then remove from the oven. Add the drizzle ingredients (powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla) to a small bowl, and stir until smooth. Drizzle over the top of the casserole.
  • Serve warm
