Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar (8 ounces) salsa
  • 3 tablespoons  Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix (or one taco seasoning packet)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, chopped or shredded
  • 1 - 2 cups Mexican blend cheese, shredded
  • 3 - 5 small colorful peppers
  • 10 - 12 cherry tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • cup Best Guacamole Recipe
  • cup sour cream
  • cup taco sauce (or salsa)
  • 8 hard shells
  • 8 soft shells

Instructions

  • In a skillet, brown the ground meat over medium-high, drain if necessary. Add in 3 tablespoons of homemade taco seasoning and ¼ cup of water. Mix until combined, add ½ jar of salsa.
  • Let the meat mixture simmer for about 10 minutes. Use this time to chop your ingredients, if needed and to get out the condiment bowls. Once the meat is done simmering, spoon it into a serving bowl. Place the dish in the center of the serving tray. Next place your shells on opposite sides of the tray.
  • Add in all of your desired toppings to small bowls if necessary and place them around the shells and meat. Add serving utensils. Serve
