Timesaving Tips and Variations

  • For a spicier twist, use spicy hot dogs or add a dollop of hot sauce
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the mummy dogs in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • You can use puff pastry dough for this recipe.
  • Have a few different dipping sauce available like ketchup, mustard, and BBQ sauce.
  • Air fryers work best when the air can circulate around the food, so give your mummy dogs plenty of space in the basket. If you’re making a big batch, cook them in two or more batches.
  • For an oozy, cheesy twist, tuck a thin slice of cheese inside the hot dog before wrapping it with the dough. Cheddar, mozzarella, or even pepper jack are great options.
