I love coffee shop drinks but really can’t afford my habit of them with the prices. Making them at home is cheaper and way better, in my opinion. That’s not to say I don’t still enjoy buying one every now and then. I love this Vanilla Caramel Apple Latte probably a bit more than my Vanilla Chai Latte. Both are my go-to cold-weather drinks.
#FallFlavors Week
Before I share the recipe, let’s talk about the #FallFlavors sponsors. We have 24 bloggers sharing their best fall recipes this week with the help of two wonderful sponsors, Door County Coffee and Tea Company and Millican Pecan. They generously supplied us with samples of their products. How cool is that? I love both companies’ products!
What I am Sharing for the Fall Flavors Week
Welcome to Flavors of Fall where we celebrate all things associated with fall like squash, apples, pecans, sweaters, football; you get the idea! Next to Spring, Fall is my favorite season and I love sipping on a hot latte while I plan our menu for the week.
Ellen from Family Around the Table and Christie from A Kitchen Hoor’s Adventures have gathered 24 bloggers who have over 100 recipes they’re sharing this week in celebration of cool weather and sweatshirts. We hope you find many must-make recipes so get your pinning, tweeting, and sharing fingers ready!
On Monday, I shared my recipe for Chocolate Cappuccino Biscotti with Pecans using Millican Pecan’s Cappuccino Pecans, which are so addicting. Wednesday, these Pumpkin Spice Glazed Scones made their appearance on the blog. Today, of course, is this latte. At the end of this post, you will find all of today’s recipes linked up.
Vanilla Caramel Apple Latte
This seasonal drink makes me think of crisp fall days, and cool evenings by the fire. My delicious Vanilla Caramel Apple Latte packs a punch with flavor, especially with the Door County Coffee and Tea Company flavor, Caramel Apple. The coffee alone is simply wonderful, then add a little vanilla and add just a little more caramel with some steamed milk and you are in heaven. Seriously, this hot drink is perfect for chilly fall days.
This recipe is super easy and makes two servings! Brew your coffee a bit stronger than you normally would. When using the vanilla-flavored syrup and the caramel sauce, start with the amount in the recipe and then taste the coffee before adding the milk. If you feel you need more of one or both of the flavorings, add a little more. A little really does go a long way with the flavorings. You can find the flavor syrups and sauces in the coffee aisle in the grocery stores. I used the Torani syrups but there are many other brands to try, too.
If you love caramel as I do, give this yummy copycat latte a try, Caramel Creme Brulee Latte, it’s one of my favorites. So easy to make coffee shop drinks at home for a fraction of the cost!
Equipment
- Coffee machine
- Your favorite mug
- Mason jar
- Spoon
Ingredients
- 2 (6 oz) cups of strongly brewed Caramel Apple Coffee (I used Door County Coffee and Tea Company‘s Caramel Apple Coffee)
- 1 cup milk (I used 2%)
- 1 tbsp vanilla flavored coffee syrup, divided
- 1 tbsp caramel flavored sauce, divided
Steps to Make This Vanilla Caramel Apple Latte
Step 1
Pour the coffee evenly into 2 large mugs. In each mug add 1/2 tablespoon of each of the vanilla and the caramel syrups, and stir to combine.
Step 2
To make the frothy milk: In a mason jar, add the milk (no more than halfway in the jar) and place the lid on. Shake the jar vigorously for about 30-60 seconds, or until the milk is frothy and has just about doubled in volume.
Then take the lid off the jar and heat milk in microwave uncovered for about 30 seconds. The foam will rise to the top of the milk and that’s okay. Using a spoon to keep the foam out of the mug, evenly pour the warmed milk into each coffee cup.
Step 3
Spoon milk foam onto your lattes and enjoy. If you want to enjoy the latte iced, simply pour the latte over ice.

I would love one of these lattes right now along with one each of the biscotti and scones you shared earlier in the week! 😉
I love the tip to use a mason jar to froth the milk! This sounds delicious and I love the combination of flavors!
I have such a craving for all these fall drinks. Yours will be tomorrow with Sunday breakfast.
Perfect warm-up for a chilly day!
I don’t usually order lattes, but I’d take a tall please!? This looks super creamy and delicious.
I used some of my caramel apple coffee in a dessert recipe, but now I need to use the rest to actually make a coffee drink – and this one sounds perfect!
