3 Ingredient Slow Cooker Peach Cobbler

This 3-ingredient slow cooker peach cobbler is an easy, delightful dessert. I use peach pie filling with a yellow cake mix and butter. That’s it. As the slow cooker works its magic, the peaches become even more tender and flavorful, mingling with the buttery, crumbly topping to create a mouthwatering dessert.

This recipe requires minimal effort and ingredients you likely already have in your pantry. The result is a warm, comforting cobbler (also called dump cake) with a heavenly aroma that fills your kitchen. I highly recommend keeping a few cans of pie filling on hand to make this anytime the craving hits.

Can I use frozen or canned peaches to make this cobbler?

Yes, you can use frozen peaches or canned peaches. Canned peaches with fruit juices or light syrup can be used as can the peaches in heavy syrup. It’s all about what you want to use. Frozen fruits have enough liquid as they thaw so no extra liquid is needed. If using frozen, no need to thaw before cooking.

Can I use any cake mix for cobblers?

Yes, you can. I use yellow cake mix, but white cake mix or vanilla cake mix works great, too. Try a spice cake mix for a more fall-like taste.

How to Store Leftover Peach Cobbler

Store leftover peach cobbler in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the refrigerator. Warm in the microwave before serving.

Can this peach cobbler be baked in the oven?

Yes, you can bake the peach cobbler in the oven. Use a 13 x 9 inch casserole dish and add the ingredients as directed in this recipe. Then bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.

  • I like to use a 6 quart slow cooker so that all the ingredients can be spread out and cooked evenly.
  • Every slow cooker will cook differently, so be watching for when the cake layer starts to turn golden brown. The edges might be a little darker to ensure that the middle is done.
  • To make cleanup even easier, try using a slow cooker liner. They are great!
  • Using pie filling means all the spices and sugar are already added for you so you don’t have to add those. That being said, you can add about ½ teaspoon of almond extract to the pie filling to enhance the fruit flavor even more.
  • You can add chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, or walnuts) to the cake mix or sprinkle them on the top for an added crunch.
  • Top warm cobbler with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.

Top with the cake mix and butter slices.

add cake mix and butter on top of peaches

Cook on high for 2½ hours or until the cake on top is cooked through and browned slightly on the sides. Since slow cookers all cook differently, start checking the cobbler after 2 hours on high. It may be done at this point or it may need another 30 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the cake in the center of the slow cooker. The edges will get done first, so check the center to make sure the cake is cooked through. The top should be browned more toward the center.
