Skinny Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino

This Skinny Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino is here to satisfy your fall cravings without all the calories. This homemade version of the classic autumn drink is made with a blend of real pumpkin, warm spices, and just the right amount of sweetness. It’s creamy, refreshing, and bursting with flavor, making it the perfect treat for when you want to indulge without overindulging.

I’m such a fan of Pumpkin Spice recipes that I make this drink throughout the year. My lighter version of a Pumpkin Spice Frappe is the clear winner for those looking to enjoy a healthier and more cost-effective version of Starbucks’ classic drink. It allows you to control calories, sweetness, and ingredients while still delivering on the delicious flavors of the season.

Two orange and white striped straws are placed in the drink, and the jar is set on a wooden surface with an orange plaid cloth in the background. Living in the south means we have warmer weather longer throughout the year so this spiced frozen beverage can be enjoyed longer, but I also love sipping on a warm drink like this Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate in the evenings around the fire pit. If you are a fan of the fall flavors and love coffee, you may also enjoy adding this Homemade Dairy Free Pumpkin Spice Creamer to your morning cup of java. It’s such a staple for me.

Skinny Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino

Pumpkin spice is the unofficial flavor of fall for many. Whether you enjoy it in a baked good or in drink form, the calories and sugar can really add up. Thankfully, you can enjoy this Skinny Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino without the guilt at home.

This frozen blended drink is made with oat milk, classic autumn spices, real pumpkin, coffee, and to lightly sweeten it a bit of maple syrup. While I make this dairy-free, you can use regular milk or another plant-based one.

The recipe does take a little prep the night before with prepping everything the night before but it’s worth that little extra time. I tend to keep a few ice cube tray of the warm spice mixture in the freezer at all times so then I only need to chill brewed coffee to make these drinks.

My lighter version of this classic frappuccino recipe uses real pumpkin, unlike the Starbucks version which doesn’t include it.

Timesaving Tips and Variations

  • Because this recipe needs to prep the day before, I recommend making extra of the frozen flavored cubes to keep in the freezer.
  • You can make a cold brew coffee for this recipe and keep a pitcher of it ready to go in the refrigerator.
  • Use the milk product of your choice but keep in mind that using whole milk will add more calories.
  • Cold ingredients blend faster and give the frappuccino its frosty consistency.
  • You can use a Homemade Pumpkin Spice Mix in place of the listed spices. Start with about one teaspoon of the homemade spice and taste to see if it’s to your liking.
  • When making this recipe, you may have leftover canned puree. Freeze the leftovers so that you can it in this recipe or others.
  • For a caffeine-free treat, simply swap regular coffee with decaf coffee, or omit it altogether for a creamy smoothie.
  • Add a scoop of vanilla or unflavored protein powder to the blender for a post-workout frappuccino. This is a great way to make your drink more filling and nutritious without adding too many extra calories.

What Sweetners Can I Use Besides Maple Syrup?

I chose to use pure maple syrup as it’s a natural sweetener that adds a rich, caramel-like flavor. You can use Stevia, agave nectar, coconut sugar, raw honey, or even monkfruit sweetner. If you aren’t worried about the calories, you can also use regular granulated sugar.

Directions to Make Skinny Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino

Prep this recipe the day before you want to serve it. If future servings are needed, I always keep a tray or two of the flavored ice cubes in the freezer and I brew coffee to store in the refrigerator.

Brew the coffee and refrigerate overnight. The coffee needs to be very cold. In a small bowl, whisk the milk, pumpkin, maple syrup, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg together until combined. Pour into ice cube tray and allow to freeze overnight.
