Daisy Cakes Bakes – Cookbook Review
Get ready to drool over the pictures and recipes in this new cookbook from Kim Nelson. Daisy Cakes Bakes is filled with tantalizing recipes for cakes, pies, cookies, and more.
Flipping through the pages of this fabulous book is like visiting your grandma’s recipe box of sweet treats. The recipes are a collection of classics to new twists on them. You don’t have to be an expert baker to whip up any of them as Kim breaks it all down. Tips are given and in some cases, other ideas that you can make with the same recipe. The photographs are very eye-appealing and mouth-watering.
Some of the cake recipes include the simple yet amazing yellow cake, a rum raisin pound cake, Scotland orange cake, and the ever classic – carrot cake; which I made into cupcakes here. The carrot cake is definitely top-notch; moist and loaded with flavor. We devoured the cupcakes. There are also pies like pecan crumble chess pie, banana split pie, and a mint chocolate layer pie with a pretzel crust. Don’t even get me started on the cookie recipes! Plus you’ll see recipes for decadent fillings for pies, cakes, and more.
Think you can’t bake, think again with this book. I highly recommend giving this one a look. Do I have a favorite? I’ll let you know once I make every.single.recipe. in the book!
