Last year, I made my first Simple Christmas Wreath Charcuterie Board for a small gathering with family and friends. It immediately became the star of the table, just like my Christmas Tree Cheese Board. We also enjoyed mugs of my Vanilla and Almond Hot Chocolate and some Christmas Fruitcake Biscotti. Watching everyone snack, laugh, and enjoy themselves reminded me how these moments during the holiday are even more special.

The Christmas wreath brings together savory cheeses, cured meats, fresh rosemary, and other delicious foods together in a colorful, edible showstopper that is perfect for grazing. Creating a platter this impressive might seem intimidating, but the process is super easy and fun.
The ingredients require minimal preparation, and the assembly relies on simple skewering and displaying them to create the signature shape. Once assembled, it is a stunning addition to any holiday table, inviting guests to enjoy classic flavors with a beautiful presentation.

Timesaving Tips and Variations
These variations make sure that your beautiful appetizer remains a manageable task, providing delicious options for everyone.
- Cheese Swaps: Use cubes of pepper jack or smoked Gouda instead of cheddar for a flavor variation.
- Meat Swaps: If you prefer, substitute the salami and pepperoni with slices of smoked turkey or ham. You can also add some prosciutto.
- Vegetarian: Omit the meat entirely and increase the number of olives, tomatoes, and gherkins. Add marinated artichoke hearts or small sweet peppers for extra color.
- Rosemary: Use fresh thyme sprigs if you cannot find fresh rosemary; it provides a similar aromatic ‘piney’ look and scent.
What to Serve with This Festive Wreath Board
This festive circle pairs beautifully with a variety of sides and drinks, making it a versatile appetizer or snack. Complement your charcuterie board with items that enhance its flavors and maintain the holiday spirit:
- Santa Nutter Butter Cookies
- Christmas Tree Puff Pastry Appetizer
- Gingerbread Latte
- Cranberry Apple Cider
With these pairings, your board will feel complete and indulgent. Guests can mix and match bites while sipping festive drinks, keeping the party mood lively and bright.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you can assemble the skewers and cheese cubes a couple of hours ahead. Keep everything covered in the fridge, then add rosemary just before serving.
You can substitute another thinly sliced cheese like mozzarella or Gouda. Even without the roses, it will still look festive with skewers and colorful ingredients.
A round platter or serving plate that is 12 to 14 inches in diameter works best for this recipe. This size allows you to create a generous, well-defined shape while keeping the ingredients tightly packed and visually appealing. Using too large a plate will make it look sparse.

How to Make a Simple Christmas Wreath Charcuterie Board
Cut the cheddar block into cubes for skewers. Grab a 12-inch or 14-inch round tray. Assemble provolone roses by overlapping 3 slices, folding in half, and rolling from one end, securing with a food pick.

Prepare skewers with your desired combinations, such as provolone, gherkin, tomato or olive, pepperoni, gherkin pickles, and cheddar. How I did mine is detailed in the recipe card.

Arrange the provolone roses evenly around the outer rim of your platter. Place skewers around the board, filling in spaces and adding rosemary sprigs for a festive effect.
