This is one drink I love to order at the coffee shop but hate the waiting in the lines for, and these days those drive-thru lines are just not worth my time.  I was so glad that Adagio Teas sent me some samples of their delicious teas to try.  I love that one of them is a Passion Tea blend that I can make this cool and refreshing drink at home now.

Saving time and money! Win-win.

Kelsey’s Blend of tea has Black Tea, Lemongrass, Apple Pieces, Natural Passionfruit Flavor, Hibiscus, Natural Hibiscus Flavor & Marigold Flowers.  That Passionfruit comes through perfectly for this iced drink.

I rarely drink sweetened drinks anymore, so making this at home, I can control the amount of sugar.  I use a light lemonade and no added sugar.  However, if you like it a little more sweet, use regular lemonade or add a bit of sugar or sugar substitute.

How to Make Passion Tea Lemonade

Super easy recipe.  Brewing loose tea is easy.  If you have a loose tea strainer, simply fill it with two teaspoons of Kelsey’s Blend tea and steep it with 16 ounces of boiling water for 15 minutes.  Loose tea measurements usually are one teaspoon of tea to 8 ounces of water.  If you are using tea bags, you will use two of them. If you are adding sugar, this is the time to do so when the tea is hot.

Once the tea is steeped, discard the tea leaves and place tea in refrigerator for about an hour to chill.  When the tea is cold,  fill a pitcher with ice, and add the 16 ounces of teas to 4 ounces of lemonade. Give it all a stir and enjoy.
