Santa Munch Christmas Popcorn
Santa Munch Christmas Popcorn is a sweet 5 ingredient snack mix that is quick and easy to make. Perfect for your holiday snacking while watching Christmas movies or to give as gifts.
It’s just about time for my family to decorate the Christmas tree and for holiday movie marathons. Both require a fair amount of snacking. This Santa Munch Christmas Popcorn fits the bill for both. It has all the components to satisfy all of us. Sweet, salty, yummy, and simple to make.
This festive popcorn snack mix is perfect to munch on while watching any or all of our favorite holiday movies. My personal favorite is A Christmas Story and I cannot wait to watch the new sequel that’s out now. Santa Munch Popcorn is also a great idea to have on hand when trimming the tree or playing all those Christmas party games, like Bobbing for Candy Canes. You may need to make a double batch!

Santa Munch Christmas Popcorn
There are plenty of ways to make this Christmas popcorn but I like to keep it simple with pretzels, chocolate candy pieces, of course, holiday sprinkles. Then drizzle melted white chocolate over all of that. It’s the sweet and salty combo that makes it so good.
White chocolate, not your thing? Melted semi-sweet chocolate chips work great, too. I’ve even used melted Andes mint candies to give it a peppermint flair.
Popping popcorn using your Instant Pot will make it easier and less expensive as you can make multiple batches. This is great if you’re making Santa Munch popcorn for holiday treat bags or to package for gifts. Don’t forget to even set some out for Santa!
It’s an irresistible snack mix that you’ll not be able to stop eating until it’s gone!
The hustle and bustle of the season call for easy recipes like this one to cheer you up after a long day of shopping or baking cookies. Grab a bowl and a mug of hot chocolate and enjoy!
What Kind of Popcorn Should I Use?
You can use microwave popcorn or pop homemade popcorn on the stovetop or use the Instant Pot. I prefer to use the unbuttered kind but you do you. Whichever kind or method you choose, be sure to remove as many of the unpopped kernels as you can from the popped corn.
Variations of Holiday Popcorn
- Substitute the M&M’s for Peanut ones.
- Swap the pretzels for salted peanuts.
- Use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips in place of the white chocolate
- Swap out the holiday sprinkles and candies for any event or occasion.
- Use red and green candy melts to make the mix a bit more colorful.
- Make a large batch to take to holiday parties.
Ingredients
- 6 cups popcorn (already popped)
- ½ cup white candy melts
- ¼ cup M&Ms (green and red)
- 1.5 oz mini pretzels
- 1 teaspoon Christmas sprinkles (I used red and green sprinkles)
How to Make Santa Munch Christmas Popcorn
Step 1
On a large baking tray, spread out the popped popcorn.
Step 2
Break up half of the pretzels and spread both the broken and whole pieces of pretzels over the popcorn.
Step 3
Spread out the M&Ms over the popcorn.
Step 4
Melt the candy wafers in the microwave in increments of 30 seconds, until it’s melted and liquid. Be sure to stir at 15 second intervals and do not overheat as the chocolate can seize up and become too thick.
Drizzle the melted chocolate over the popcorn mix.
Step 5
Then add the sprinkles to the popcorn mix and toss everything to make sure the ingredients stick to each other.
How to Store Popcorn
Popcorn will stay fresh for about a week in an airtight container. If packaging for gifts, use cute holiday-themed bags or airtight metal containers.
