The buttery toasted flavor of Grilled Pound Cake makes a great base for fresh summertime berries. Serve with a scoop of ice cream and it’s a perfect summer dessert.

Have you ever grilled cake? No? Well, I’m here to tell you – do it! Especially pound cake. It turns out a little crisp on the outside but when you bite into it, the cake is so tender and moist. I used Hamilton Beach® Indoor Searing Grill for this recipe and it was so easy to use. Simple preheat the grill and then add the slices of pound cake. Sear each side about two minutes and you’re done!
The pound cake makes a great base for a summertime dessert. I added fresh berries in a bowl with a little lemon zest, and sugar. Then let that sit a bit so the juices start to flow from the berries creating a nice little topping for the pound cake. Adding ice cream is totally optional.
The Searing Indoor Grill is probably my favorite small appliance from Hamilton Beach. We grill outside often but there are times when we run out of propane or it’s raining and I want to grill. The indoor grill is my go to! It makes great steaks, hot dogs, grilled veggies, and so so much more.

- 1½ cups sliced fresh strawberries
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 6 slices pound cake (about 1 inch thick)
- In a medium bowl, combine the the berries with the sugar lemon zest; set aside while the cake is grilling.
- Preheat the Hamilton Beach Searing Indoor Grill to 450 degrees.
- Spread butter over both sides of cake slices.
- Grill, uncovered, for 1-2 minutes on each side or until light golden brown.
- Remove pound cake slices to serving plates.
- Spoon berries over cake and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
