Apple Pie Tacos Recipe
These easy to make Apple Pie Tacos are a fun twist on the classic apple pie. Made with a delicious homemade apple pie filling and a cinnamon sugar tortilla shell, drizzled with caramel sauce, and served with a cherry on top. These delightful tacos make a perfect dessert recipe to add a touch of sweetness to any occasion.
Apple Pie Tacos will make you forget everything you thought you knew about dessert. Seriously. We’re talking warm, gooey apple pie filling snuggled inside a crispy, cinnamon-sugar dusted taco shell. Prepare for your taste buds to do a happy dance.
When I made these apple cinnamon tacos for dessert one night it became an instant hit even more than my air fryer chocolate glazed apple hand pies and this skillet apple pie biscuits recipe. The apple-filled tortilla shells are perfect for any taco night you may have or just because you crave a little something sweet.
Apple Pie Tacos
This recipe does have a few ingredients that you may not have in your pantry but they are easily found and can be used in many other recipes. In making the cooked apples I used green apple syrup in the pie filling. I drizzled some caramel syrup over the tacos before adding a marachino cherry.
You can use a variety of apples in this recipe. I used Gala apples but Honeycrisp, or Fuji apples all work great.
The filling for these tacos comes together quickly on the stovetop and making the shells is just as easy and quick. Assembling the little desserts is simple and fast, too.
Timesaving Tips and Variations
- I used a 3-inch biscuit cutter to cut rounds out from the flour tortilla shells.
- The tortilla scraps can be used to make cinnamon sugar chips to snack on.
- You’ll use a regular sized muffin pan turned upside down to make the shells.
- Fill the mini sweet shells with other foods like ice cream, any fruit pie filling, and more.
- You can bake the taco shells and prepare the filling a day in advance. When it’s time to serve, heat the filling up and assemble the tacos.
- Substitute a canned apple pie filling in place of making homemade. Use a 21-ounce can and dice the apple pieces into smaller pieces before use.
These tips will help you make the recipe a success and give you other ideas for the sweet treats.

Ingredients
Most of the ingredients are easily found in your grocery store but a few you may not have seen or heard of so I am linking them to give an idea of what I used. Full list of ingredients are in the recipe card.
How to Make Apple Pie Tacos
Start by cutting your shells out with the biscuit cutter from large flour tortillas. In a bowl, combine melted coconut oil, cinnamon and sugar. Add cut-out pieces of tortillas and coat with the mixture.
Use the back side of a muffin tin to form the mini taco shells. Then bake them for 5 – 6 minutes. Allow them to cool completely before removing from the muffin tin.
While they’re cooling, peel, core, and dice 4 apples into small cubes. Combine the diced apples, Green Apple Syrup, sugar, and cinnamon. In a skillet sauté apples, cool, fill shells, drizzle caramel, and top with cherry.

Apple Pie Tacos
Equipment
- Medium skillet
- spoon
- vegetable peeler or knife
Ingredients
For the cinnamon sugar shells:
- 5 large flour tortilla shells
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons sugar
For the apple pie filling:
- 4 Gala apples
- 2 tablespoons Torani Green Apple Puremade Syrup
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- Torani caramel puremade syrup (optional)
- maraschino cherries (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and lightly spray the bottom of two 12-cup muffins tins with non-stick spray.
- In a mixing bowl, stir together the melted coconut oil, cinnamon, and sugar.
- Using a 3-inch biscuit or round cookie cutter, cut rounds out from the flour tortilla shells. Toss the rounds in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
- Place all the mini taco shells between the crevices of the upside-down muffin tin and bake the shells in the oven for 6 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before removing from muffin tin.
- Peel, core, and dice 4 apples. Be sure to dice the apples small enough that they will fit into the mini shells. Mine were about ¼ inch to ½ inch cubes.
- In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, 2 tablespoons Torani Green Apple Puremade Syrup, 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Mix well.
- Heat a skillet on medium heat and melt two tablespoons coconut oil. Add the apple mixture and sauté for 5- 10 minutes until soft. Time will depend on how small your cuts are so be sure to test to see if the apples are done at the 5 minute mark.
- Once done, cool slightly and then fill the shells with the apple filling.
- Drizzle Torani's Caramel sauce over the tacos and top each with a maraschino cherry.
