If you’re looking for an easy charcuterie board to bring to your 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and all your summer gatherings, this a great way to enjoy simple appetizers and treats. This festive and easy patriotic charcuterie board has all the red, white, and blue colors with your favorite foods. Best of all, it’s totally customizable for all budgets and tastes.

As long as I can remember we’ve been making meat and cheese boards with a little something sweet on them, too. We had them primarily for Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve but I don’t recall my parents calling them “Charcuterie Boards”. Instead, they were dubbed, “snack trays”. It was a fun way to serve what would be our dinner. Who doesn’t like to graze on finger food?!

Whatever you call them, they are easy to make, tasty, and fun. They can feed a crowd or just two. This brunch board is great for weekends, Mother’s Day, brunches, and more. If you’re needing a fresh idea for Valentine’s Day or date night, these boards are the way to go. Summer fruits are perfect for a summer charcuterie board. Oftentimes, I’ll make this one for lunch or light dinner. Get creative with the charcuterie boards!

How to Put a Charcuterie Board Together

The first step is to choose your board. You don’t need a fancy expensive one. Using a large platter or wooden board is a great option, even a baking sheet! I used a piece of parchment paper to cover my board to help reduce staining. The board I used here is a 14-inch round one but use what you have. The great thing about charcuterie boards is that you can customize them to the size and shape of your board, or make multiple boards, even! Large crowds may require a very large board or even several smaller ones.

Fresh fruits are great space fillers for charcuterie boards and using small containers for some gives the boards a bit more depth with the different elements.

I used some of the colorfully wrapped candy coins to fill in any spaces I saw. The arrangement of patriotic charcuterie board ideas given is merely a suggestion, the point is to have a variety of items and containers.
