Pineapple Crush Smoothie
This Pineapple Crush Smoothie uses just 4 ingredients to create a delicious and healthy smoothie with a tropical vibe to enjoy any time of the day.
Fresh pineapple was on sale this week at the grocery store, and I wanted to make smoothies. It’s rainy and dreary today, and this Pineapple Crush Smoothie is perfect to cheer me up. I get tired of drinking plain ol’ orange juice in the morning to get my potassium and pineapple with the OJ would be a nice change. Sipping on this drink had me thinking of the summer and wishing to be at the beach or someplace warm to enjoy the tropics.
Making smoothies in the blender is probably the easiest way for me to grab breakfast these days. I love making this lemon smoothie and my new favorite until now has been a strawberry pink peppercorn smoothie. Blended smoothies have just a few ingredients making them the perfect on-the-go drinks.

Health Benefits of Eating Pineapple
Did you know that pineapple is so healthy for you? It’s filled with so much goodness in addition to the great taste. Pineapple is low-fat, is rich in fiber, and is packed with vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium. Pineapple also contains manganese which helps build bones, and it has bromelain that gives the fruit an anti-inflammatory benefit.
How long is this smoothie good for in the refrigerator?
This smoothie is best to drink immediately, however, you can store this pineapple smoothie for about 1 day in the refrigerator. I suggest storing it in a sealed container or a mason jar with the lid on. It may separate, which is perfectly normal! Just shake it up before drinking.
Variations and Substitutions
- You can use frozen pineapple in place of the fresh fruit. I would omit the ice and only add it if you need to thicken the smoothie a bit more.
- I have not used canned pineapple in this recipe, but I feel sure you can do so.
- Use Greek yogurt in place of the regular to up the protein if you wish, or even add a scoop of protein powder to the smoothie.
- If you need to sweeten the smoothie, I suggest using a small amount of raw honey or pure maple syrup.
- Adding just 1/8 of a teaspoon of turmeric would increase the anti-inflammatory benefits and you don’t even taste it.
- Give this smoothie a more tropical flavor by adding some shredded coconut.
- Sometimes I will use a frozen banana if I have them in the freezer in place of the fresh banana, it just makes the smoothie even more creamy.
- This recipe makes one serving, but it can be doubled.
