Homemade Pay Day Candy Bars
Easy to Make Homemade Pay Day Candy Bars are made with a chewy caramelized toffee and coated with roasted salted peanuts.
One of my husband’s favorite candy bars is the nutty toffee Payday. So when #OurFamilyTable Facebook group of bloggers decided to a celebration of all things peanuts to celebrate National Peanut month (March), I felt this recipe was perfect for it.
This copycat payday candy bar recipe is super simple and chock full of peanuts. Roasted peanuts surrounding a milky toffee center, gotta love that! There’s only 5 ingredients, which makes this recipe even better.
Making homemade pay day candy bars takes a little patience with the cooking the toffee but other than that, it’s an easy recipe and a perfect one to make when the sweet/salty cravings hit.
My husband gave these peanutty candy bars a thumbs up, but did say they were a bit sweeter than the original.
Payday Candy Bar Ingredients
- Peanuts
- Butter
- Peanut Butter Chips
- Marshmallows
- Sweetened Condensed Milk
How to Make Homemade Pay Day Candy Bars
Grease or spray a 13×9 inch pan with nonstick spray and layer half of the peanuts on the bottom of the pan. Set aside for now.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter and peanut butter chips over medium-low heat until well combined. Add the sweetened condensed milk and marshmallows and stir until all mixed. This will take a few minutes to get the marshmallows completely melted. Keep stirring!
Pour the toffee mixture evenly over peanuts.
Top with remaining peanuts and let cool either at room temperature or refrigerate. I refrigerate the Pay Day candy bars once they set so they would stay a bit firm and not be so soft. Cut into servings pieces.
