Timesaving Tips and Variations

  • Substitute cherry tomatoes for the grape tomatoes if you wish.
  • In place of the balsamic glaze, try drizzling garlic and rosemary olive oil over the salad skewers.
  • Try using cantaloupe balls and prosciutto in place of the mozzarella pearls.
  • Replace tomatoes with strawberries or watermelon for a sweet and savory combination.
  • Your grocery store deli area will have fresh mozzarella balls and even marinated ones. The marinated mozzarella balls would also be delicious to use.
  • The quality of your ingredients matters. Opt for fresh, ripe tomatoes, and high-quality mozzarella.
  • If your basil leaves are too big, fold them in half to use on the skewer.
