Grilled Garlic Honey Boneless Wings
Grilled Garlic Honey Boneless Wings are one of my favorite go-to chicken recipes when I want something quick, flavorful, and ridiculously easy to make. With just three ingredients, you get juicy chicken in a sweet, garlicky sauce that tastes like you spent hours on it. It’s proof that you don’t need a long list of items for big flavor.
Serve these grilled boneless wings as an appetizer or with dinner. Can’t go wrong with the garlic hot sauce and the sweetness of honey. Perfect for game days and your next summer BBQ.

I tend to grill a lot of chicken once the weather warms up, so I’m always rotating through a few easy favorites. These Honey Garlic Boneless Wings are usually at the top of the list because they’re just so simple to throw together. I’ll add my Nashville Hot Grilled Chicken Tenders for anyone who wants a spicier option. Other nights, I’ll switch things up with something like my Grilled Glazed Blackberry Chicken just to keep dinner from feeling repetitive.

Grilled Garlic Honey Boneless Wings
What I love most about this boneless chicken wings recipe is how simple it is to throw together. No frying, no breading, and barely any prep time. Whether I’m making them for a quick weeknight dinner or tossing them on the grill for a weekend get-together, they always disappear fast.
Chicken tenders are the ultimate wing hack; you get the same juicy crunch without the mess or price tag. The honey dry rub and garlic hot sauce combo is the perfect sweet-meets-heat duo for any palate. These “wings” come off the grill charred and coated in a sticky, savory glaze that’s always a hit. If you want a delicious, easy twist on buffalo chicken for your summer BBQ, this is it.

I do love Buffalo wings and wings with other flavors like Garlic Parmesan, so I definitely wanted to use the bottle of Garlic Goodness sauce that I had on the tenders. For the honey part of the recipe, I used Honey Hype Spice dry rub.
If you can’t get those two products, I have also used Melinda’s Habanero Hot Sauce and The Spice Lab Hot Honey Blend for this recipe, and they both are readily available on Amazon and in some of the brick-and-mortar stores, too.
Timesaving Tips and Variations
Grilling should be fun, not stressful, so here are a few ways to make this recipe even easier for you. Whether you’re short on time or want to adjust the flavor, there are plenty of ways to make this recipe work for you.
- Marinade: You can marinate the meat in the garlic sauce for a couple of hours for a deeper flavor.
- Easy Swaps: You can use pre-cut chicken breast chunks instead of tenders.
- Keep it Inside: No grill? No problem. Throw these in an air fryer at 400°F for about 10 minutes, and you’ll still get that great “fried” texture.
- Switch the Heat: If you aren’t a fan of spice, swap the garlic hot sauce for a garlic parmesan sauce or a mild honey BBQ.
- Extra Sweetness: For a stickier finish, add a little extra drizzle of honey right after the chicken comes off the grill.
- Party Style: Turn these into skewers before grilling for a fun, easy-to-grab appetizer that’s perfect for hosting.
- Double the Batch: These make great leftovers for salads or wraps the next day, so I always recommend making more than you think you need.
With just a few simple swaps, you can keep this recipe on repeat without it ever getting boring. Having these tricks up your sleeve makes it easy to pull off a last-minute meal that tastes anything but basic.

What to Serve with Boneless Chicken Wings
These are easy to serve with a bunch of simple sides that complement the garlic and honey flavors. You can keep it casual or make a full spread depending on your mood.
- Crock Pot Baked Beans
- Easy Homemade Fried Cheese
- Creamy Coleslaw with Poppy Seed Dressing
- Grilled Corn on the Cob With Dill Butter
- Whip up a batch of Copycat Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning mix to serve with them.
Mix and match depending on the occasion. They’re easy to pair with dinner or serve as part of a party platter.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you can cook them in an air fryer, skillet, or bake them in a broiler oven instead. You won’t get that same smoky flavor, but they’ll still taste great. A grill pan works well if you want something similar.
You can prep or marinate the chicken ahead and keep it in the fridge until ready to cook. They’re best fresh off the grill, but leftovers reheat well in the oven or air fryer.
The chicken should be fully cooked with no pink in the center and reach 165°F internally. A light char from the grill is perfect. It usually takes about 6–8 minutes total, depending on the size and your grill.

If you loved these wings, you’ll definitely enjoy these other simple grill favorites. My Grilled Chicken Kabobs with Everything Seasoning bring a savory, unique crunch, while the Grilled Bang Bang Chicken Skewers offer a creamy, spicy kick that everyone loves. Both recipes are perfect for switching up your BBQ routine without any extra stress.

Essential Tools for Grilling Chicken Wings
You don’t need anything fancy to make this recipe work, just a few basics to make grilling easier and cleanup minimal. No grill? No worries, you can use an air fryer, a grill pan, or even your oven on the broiler setting.
Weber Original Kettle Premium Charcoal Grill, 22-Inch, Black – Outdoor BBQ Grill with Built‑In Thermometer, Heat Control Dampers & One‑Touch™ Cleaning System

Once you have these on hand, the recipe comes together fast with very little stress. Simple tools, big results.
Garlic Honey Chicken Wing Ingredients
With only three ingredients, this recipe keeps things simple but packs big flavor. Each component plays an important role in the sticky, sweet, garlicky coating.
- Chicken tenders – cook quickly and stay tender on the grill
- Garlic hot sauce – brings bold, savory flavor
- Honey dry rub – adds the perfect touch of sweetness

That’s really all you need to make these wings work. Simple ingredients, big payoff. I like to buy the tenders when they are on sale, but another tip is to buy the chicken breasts when they are on sale, and cut them into tender-sized pieces. Freeze them in serving-size amounts until you need them.
How to Grill Garlic Honey Chicken Wings
Coat the Chicken: Get those chicken tenders covered in the honey rub so every inch is seasoned.
Prep Your Basting Sauce: Pour some sauce into a bowl for brushing while you grill to keep the rest of the bottle clean.

Fire Up the Grill: Set your grill to medium-high so you get a good sear without burning the honey in the rub.
Grill and Glaze: Cook the chicken for about 3 to 4 minutes per side, brushing on the sauce as you flip them.

The Final Toss: Once they’re done, pull them off and toss them in a bowl with the remaining sauce for that extra sticky finish.
