Mini Turkey Meatloaves Recipe
This delicious mini turkey meatloaves recipe is a healthier twist on the classic comfort food baked in a muffin pan and topped with BBQ sauce.
Early on in my married life, when I would make meatloaf it didn’t come out the way my Dad made it or even as one of my favorite restaurants prepared it. It came out too compressed and dry. My hubby poured the ketchup over his portion and ate it like it was the best thing he’d ever tasted. I love that guy!
Meatloaf is classic comfort food and when prepared correctly, I just want to devour it over and over again. Throughout the years, I know I have perfected it when the hubby rarely gets the ketchup bottle out when it’s meatloaf night. Whether I bake it in the oven or slow cooker, it turns out fantastic.
Mini Turkey Meatloaves
I wanted to cut out some of the red meat we’ve been eating so making these Mini Turkey Meatloaves was fun and a bit healthier. These are individually sized for easy portioning and they cook in about 30 minutes.
Of course, the hubby was skeptical as he’s not a fan of ground turkey in general but he loved these. I think it was the seasonings and BBQ Sauce that did the trick.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups regular oats
- 1 cup milk
- 2 ½ pounds lean ground turkey
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon FlavorGod Everything but Salt seasoning (use this affiliate link to save $5.00 on your first order)

- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 cup BBQ sauce, divided (plus more if needed
How to Make This Mini Turkey Meatloaves Recipe
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 12-cup muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray. Depending on how big you are making your mini loaves, you may need two pans. Typically I make 12 mini loaves on the larger size but I have made up to 16. Set pan(s) aside.
Step 2
In a small mixing bowl, combine the oats and milk. Stir to make sure all of the oats are covered. Let sit until ready to mix with the turkey mixture.
Step 3
In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, onion, garlic, FlavorGod seasoning, pepper, red pepper flakes, and ¼ cup BBQ sauce.
Step 4
Add the oats and all of the milk in the bowl to the ground turkey mixture. Using your (clean) hands, combine the two mixtures together. Be sure not to over mix, this will make the meatloaf mixture a bit tough.
Step 5
Using a muffin scoop (or a ¼-cup measuring cup), scoop the turkey meatloaf mixture into each of the muffin cups. Add about a tablespoon of BBQ sauce (this is our favorite) to the tops of each turkey muffin.
Step 6
Bake for about 20 minutes, and then top a little bit more BBQ sauce to the tops of each meatloaf. Place muffin tin back into the oven and let cook for about 10 more minutes, or until done (it may take 15 more minutes depending on your oven). Remove muffin pan from oven and allow to set for about 5 minutes before serving.
Storing Leftover Turkey Meatloaves
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days in airtight containers. The mini loaves freeze great, too. Use a freezer-safe container or bag to store these in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Tips, Tricks, and FAQs
- Try this recipe with ground beef or even ground chicken.
- Don’t have or want to use the FlavorGod seasoning? Use your favorite seasoning salt but cut the amount to only ½ teaspoon and add 2 tablespoons of fresh chopped parsley.
- Instead of using BBQ sauce use ketchup or marinara sauce.
- If you want to use shredded cheese on top of the mini meatloaves, omit the BBQ sauce and add the cheese during the last 10 minutes of cooking time.
- Add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the turkey mixture.
