Are Freeze Dried Strawberries and Dried Strawberries the same?

No, freeze dried strawberries are not the same as dried strawberries. Dried strawberries refer to dehydrated strawberries which are different than freeze dried strawberries. Freeze dried strawberries have less water giving them longer shelf lives. They also have a stronger flavor than dehydrated.

Strawberry White Chocolate Bark

The hardest part of this recipe is waiting for the candy to set. Seriously, it’s so easy to make Strawberry White Chocolate Bark with just 3 ingredients.

I chose to use Nairn’s Chocolate Chip Oat Grahams to add another flavor and texture to this recipe. It made it even better. Nothing wrong with adding more chocolate, right? The baking sheet I used is from another wonderful sponsor, Anolon. I’m telling you, this baking sheet is amazing and it’s pretty. Non-stick with easy to grip handles. Love it!

As for the freeze dried strawberries, you can find them pretty much at any grocery store. They have other fruits too. I can’t wait to try the peaches.

How to Make Strawberry White Chocolate Bark

Step 1

Using a food processor or blender, pulse the 1 cup of freeze dried strawberries until it becomes a powder. Measure out 2 tablespoons (set aside) and reserve the rest for later.

Step 2

In a large microwavable safe bowl, add the two cups of white chocolate bark pieces and melt according to the package directions. Alternatively, you can use the stove-top method to melt the chocolate.

Step 3

Pour one-third of the melted white chocolate into a small bowl and add the two tablespoons of strawberry powder. Mix well until completely incorporated.

Step 4

You can cover baking sheet with parchment paper, if you want but with the Anolon pan, it’s not necessary. Pour an even layer of strawberry chocolate onto baking sheet. Using an offset spatula, smooth the chocolate in an even layer. Immediately top with a few freeze dried strawberries and broken pieces of the chocolate chip oat grahams, along with a small amount of the strawberry powder. Place baking tray into freeze to for 5 minutes or until candy is set.

Step 5

Remove tray from freezer and pour remaining melted chocolate over the strawberry later. Using the offset spatula, gently smooth the white chocolate over the pink evenly. Immediately top with more freeze dried strawberries pieces, graham crackers pieces, and more of the strawberry powder. Return tray back to freezer for 10 minutes, or until candy is set.

This is so pretty! It’s really hard to get strawberry flavor in foods with making them too wet. I’ve bought the powder but it clumps so fast. I’ll need to try some dried berries and see if they last longer.
