The Best Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce
The Best Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce is ready to pour over ice cream in just 5 minutes and only 3 ingredients! Items you probably already have in your pantry. Creamy, thick, and chocolatey! Perfect to use for so many desserts.
I am a sucker for a Hot Fudge Sundae. I love the sauce and could eat it with a spoon but with ice cream, it’s just my kind of summer dessert. This really is the best homemade hot fudge sauce I have had in a long time. The best part is that I can make it any time in just 5 minutes.
Admittedly, that could also be a bad thing. But I’m not thinking that way – I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life, just more of this hot fudgy deliciousness.
While hot fudge is perfectly yummy pour over vanilla ice cream, it’s also sinfully good over this cookie jar ice cream, that you can make at home, too. Use this sauce when you make a Grasshopper Poke Cake, too.
Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce
Sometimes, I can’t even believe this is a recipe since it’s so easy to make. I mean three ingredients, a saucepan, a whisk, and a jar. That’s it.
The hardest part of this whole process is remembering to buy ice cream to use it on.
Making the thick chocolate sauce tastes so much better than what you can buy in the grocery store. If I may, I suggest you stock up on the ingredients to make this anytime you want.
Heating the sauce up for just a quick 30 seconds thins it slightly so that when you pour it over the ice cream it immediately thickens back up to perfection.
What is the difference between hot fudge and chocolate syrup?
The difference between hot fudge and chocolate syrup is the texture. Chocolate syrup is thinner and uses sugar or corn syrup and water while hot fudge relies on butter and heavy cream (or in this case, sweetened condensed milk).
