We like to enjoy this French toast with crisp bacon, breakfast potatoes, and our family’s favorite breakfast tacos when we have a weekend brunch. Of course, it’s perfect by itself but you can also make some scrambled eggs and sausage links to enjoy with it as well. Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 (14.1 oz) package of brioche bread (I used a loaf from my local Walmart bakery )
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • ⅛ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, crushed
  • 1 tbsp butter (for cooking)

Directions

Add the cereal to a ziplock bag and coarsely crush it with a rolling pin or use your hands. Pour out onto a plate.

Cut the ends off the brioche bread (unless you want to use them), and then cut the loaf into 8 thick slices.

Heat ½ tablespoon of butter over medium-low to medium heat in a griddle pan. While the griddle is heating up, prepare the custard batter. In a shallow bowl, combine the milk, eggs, and cinnamon together.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture coating both sides, then coat each side of the bread in the crushed cereal. Place the slices of bread on the griddle and cook over medium-low to medium heat for 3 minutes, flip over, then cook for an additional 3 minutes. The French toast should be golden brown on both sides and cooked through.

Serve the crunchy French toast with strawberries and syrup.
