These treats are classic with creamy peanut butter sandwiched between two peanut butter cookies, but transforming them into adorable little creatures makes them extra special.

Baking cookie recipes can be a fun family activity, but there is no baking with this recipe, which makes it even more fun to make them with the kids. Just a few simple ingredients are all you need for this easy, quick, and festive treat.

The text "Nutter Butter Reindeer Cookies" is displayed in a festive red banner above the cookies. The phrase "Easy to make with kids!" is written in white text on a red background in the bottom left corner.

If you ask me, these Reindeer Nutter Butters are the perfect last-minute sweet confection to make if you need a something for a party, your child’s school party, or simply to give as gifts to neighbors and friends. My kids call them Rudolph cookies but I just call them delicious and so are these Angel Nutter Butter Cookies. Perhaps my favorite to make are the Santa Nutter Butter Cookies because of the sprinkles. I love to decorate with sprinkles!

Nutter Butter Reindeer Cookies

These are made with peanut shaped peanut butter cookies and are a breeze to make. You can make them all look like Rudolph as I did, or use a chocolate chip or a brown M&M for some of the noses. Get creative!

Melting the chocolate is probably the hardest part of this recipe and using almond bark makes it easier as it melts smoother and doesn’t seize up as much as say melting chocolate chips.

These are fun and easy holiday treats that make great gifts or just enjoy with a cup of homemade peanut butter hot chocolate. I highly recommend doubling the recipe.

Timesaving Tips and Variations

  • Clear a workspace, line it with parchment paper, and gather your ingredients and tools. This will make decorating easier and less stressful.
  • Use almond bark for best results with melting chocolate.
  • If your pretzels don’t break in half equally, that’s okay. You can match them up or just use them, giving each deer more character.
  • You can use a pair of tweezers to help place the small items like the eyes and nose.
  • No candy eyes? Use a small dot of melted white chocolate and a mini chocolate chip turned upside down for the eyes.
  • If you don’t have the red M&MS, a dried cranberry or a pomegranate seed would work for the nose as would a cinnamon red hot candy.
  • To help the chocolate set up quicker, you can place the tray in the refrigerator for 10 – 15 minutes.

With these simple tips, you’ll be creating a whole herd of festive deer like a pro in no time.

What is Almond Bark?

Almond bark is made with a combination of cocoa butter, and vegetable oil with flavorings and colorings. It’s used quite often in making candy or for dipping sweet treats into melted chocolate.

How to Store Chocolate Nutter Butter Cookies

Make sure your cookies are completely cool before you seal them up. Moisture is the enemy of crisp, delicious treats. Once the chocolate sets, layer in an airtight container with parchment paper in between. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

With their pretzel antlers, red noses, and googly eyes, these reindeer confections are sure to bring a smile to your face.

Easy Christmas Treats

These festive treats are sure to sleigh your taste buds with their delightful flavors and adorable designs.

Santa’s little helpers will love these yummy treats, too!
