2 Ingredient Mango Sherbet - pin

I just love simple recipes and the less ingredients, the better! This 2 Ingredient Mango Sherbet is one of those recipes.  Can you even call it a recipe with only two ingredients? It’s such an easy recipe to make on the spur of the moment.

Plus, there is no need for an ice cream maker! Just a blender or food processor is all you need.

Mangoes are a stone fruit and have become a staple in my house for smoothies and for adding to salads, or just for a snack.  Frozen mangoes are great for the smoothies and for this sherbet.

Did you know that Mangoes are a superfruit? They are! Mangoes have plenty of antioxidants and contain over 20 vitamins and minerals.  One cup of mango has only 100 calories.

How do you know if a mango is ripe?

Mangoes come in a few colors:  green, yellow, and red.  Often ripe mangos will be a golden yellow color.  When choosing a mango, it’s not the color that will always let you know if it’s ripe.  You want to touch the fruit and feel that it has a slight “give” and feels soft.  If are you planning on eating the mango with a day or two, go for a softer one.  Slightly firmer ones can be used in a few days.

This recipe really came in handy during the latest heat wave here.  We all needed something to cool off with and it was too hot to even drive to buy ice cream.  I have made this recipe with peaches so I thought why not mangoes.  It’s so good! Creamy and just the right amount of sweetness with a little tartness.
