Popcorn is a staple in our house. It’s the perfect snack for movie nights and it’s a perfect base for sweet treats like this Valentine’s Day Popcorn.
This white chocolate drizzled popcorn is so easy to make that you’ll be finding reasons to make it. Change up the sprinkles and chocolate candy melt colors to coordinate any event or holiday. Favorite sports team colors, Easter, Christmas, baby showers, birthdays, and so many other occasions.
What kind of popcorn do you use?
Use your favorite microwave popcorn for this fun treat. Salted and buttered works great to give the popcorn treat that salty sweet taste.
How do you melt the chocolate candy melts in the microwave?
Place chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Place the bowl in the microwave and heat for 1 minute at 50% power level. This lower power level is essential. Normal power will not melt the chocolate evenly and will most likely burn the chocolate. Stir the chocolate and return it to the microwave. Heat again at 50% power level for 15 – 20 second intervals, stopping to stir every 15 – 20 seconds.
*Remember that white chocolate tends to melt faster than dark chocolate or semisweet chocolate. It has a lower burning point, which means it heats up more quickly and can burn more easily.
Avoid unpopped kernels in your chocolate drizzled popcorn
Here’s an easy tip for that! Put the popcorn in a large bowl and place a cooling rack over the top. Invert and shake over a rimmed baking sheet. All of the unpopped kernels will come out onto the baking sheet! Scoop the rest of the popcorn out of the bowl and continue with the recipe.

How to Make This Valentine’s Day Popcorn Recipe
Step 1
Pop the popcorn according to package directions. Line two large cookie sheets with parchment paper or waxed paper. Spread popcorn over waxed paper.
Step 2
Place the white chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon coconut oil into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the chocolate on high for 1 minute. Stir vigorously to allow the chocolate to continue melting with the residual heat. Return the chocolate to the microwave and heat in 15-second intervals, stirring well between each, until the chocolate mixture is smooth.
Step 3
Pour the melted chocolate over the popcorn and toss to coat. Spread popcorn back into an even layer. Allow the chocolate to set completely. Break large sections of the popcorn apart.
Step 4
Place the bright pink candy melts and 1 teaspoon coconut oil into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the chocolate on high for 1 minute. Stir vigorously to allow the chocolate to continue melting with the residual heat. Return the chocolate to the microwave and heat in 15-second intervals, stirring well between each, until the chocolate mixture is smooth.
Step 5
Repeat Step 4 this time with the red chocolate candy melts and transfer the melted candy into a zip top freezer bag. Set aside.
Step 6
One at a time, snip a corner from the freezer bags and drizzle melted candy coating over the popcorn.
Step 7
Add the sprinkles over the wet candy coating.
Step 8
Allow candy coating to set completely before breaking into pieces. To speed the process, place the white chocolate popcorn in a refrigerator or freezer just until set. Store in an airtight container.
