What is French Toast?
French toast is a classic breakfast dish that consists of slices of bread dredged in a wet mixture usually consisting of milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. The bread is then cooked until golden brown on a griddle and served with maple syrup and other favorite toppings like fresh fruit. You can use sandwich bread, brioche bread, or even Texas toast when making French toast. The best bread is usually stale bread or day old.

Pro tip: If you’re cooking a large batch of French toast, you can keep the cooked slices warm in a 200 degree oven for up to 30 minutes. Place a wire rack on a large baking sheet and place the slices of French toast on the rack. Be sure not to leave it in the oven for too long or it will dry out.
