I’ve mentioned in various posts that my family serves snack-type foods for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve in place of dinner and I totally wish I would have thought of these individual charcuterie cups years ago in place of a traditional charcuterie board. So much fun and easy to make!

Quite often I will prepare way too much food for these events and no one really wants to take any of it home after we party. I created these mini cups for a movie night and I was surprised to see that my friends refilled their cups and even took a few more filled ones home. I call that a win and we will be making them more often now.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Everyone loves a variety of appetizers and snacks.
  • The individual charcuterie cups make it easy to carry while mingling among your guests.
  • Create a one-of-a-kind mini appetizer cup with foods you love.

New Year’s Eve Individual Charcuterie Cups

Single serve mini charcuterie cups are a very functional way to serve many handheld appetizers and they are just fun to make and enjoy!. Each cup can be assembled ahead of time so that everyone can just grab one or two and enjoy. Such a fun charcuterie board alternative for the holiday season.

This recipe will make 12 individual charcuterie cups but I would definitely suggest making double or triple that for your guests, depending on what other party foods you will be serving.

If you’ve created a traditional charcuterie board, you know you want to include a variety of textures, meats, cheeses, crackers, fruits, and even sweets. The easy charcuterie cups are your blank canvas to fill so get creative while going for a great visual appeal with a pop of color, too.

At my local grocery store, there is a section in the front by the deli that has all sorts of delicious foods that are perfect for charcuterie boards and many are packaged for that purpose. Feel free to use them but also know if you’re planning on serving many people, it may not be the best cost-wise.

Steps to Assemble New Year’s Eve Individual Charcuterie Cups

Step 1

For the base layer, in each cup add just enough of the trail mix to cover the bottom of the cup. Then add 4 of the small cheese crackers. Next, add one long flatbread cracker, one cheese stick, and one long crunch breadstick (using the trail mix to anchor them.)

Step 2

Using a knife and cutting board, cut the Genoa/Mozarella roll-ups into 4 pieces. Grab a wooden skewer and add in this order, ¼ of the Genoa/Mozarell roll, one grape tomato, and 1 marinated mozzarella ball to the skewer. Repeat for the other 11 skewers and one to each of the cups.

Step 3

For the next skewer, add a small strawberry with leaves intact, a blackberry, and a green grape. Place in cup and repeat for 11 more skewers.

Step 4

For the third and final skewer: add a Gherkin pickle, 2 pepperoni slices, each folded in half twice and then stacked (so they appear to look fanned out), and 1 cheddar cheese cube. Place in cup and repeat for the other 11 skewers.

Step 5

Finish the mini charcuterie cups by filling in the gaps with a couple of blackberries, cheddar cheese slices/cubes, and a couple of Cheez-Its if needed. Serve and Happy New Year!
